Our Story

Chivic African Safaris is a family-owned and -operated company, offering custom safaris that are only possible in the South African bush.

Christo Joubert began his professional hunting career in 1996, and to this day he believes that rather than selling a hunt to a client, he is offering an African adventure to a friend.

Chivic’s safaris are all conducted in a legal and ethical manner, and in the style of safaris from years gone by.  Just one of the many ways Chivic African Safaris is different from the others is we never combine groups.  So whether you come alone or there are several people in your group, you will have the camp to yourself and you will be our only priority.

Our camps are like an oasis in the middle of the African bush, where you can relax around a campfire while listening to the lions, leopards, and hyenas telling their own stories.
