Potamochoerus larvatus

The Bushpig can be found throughout Africa, south of the Sahara desert. They resemble a domestic pig, however they are reddish brown with a mane.

The males are larger than the females and have facial warts. These warts are used to protect their faces during fights with other males.

They live in groups of seven to 12 animals, consisting of a dominant male, dominant female, other females, and their young. They are mainly nocturnal, doing most of their foraging at night. They are pests to the local farmers, as they destroy crops and rut up the soil.
